Space Expo presents: Mission at the museum
Dutch astronaut André Kuipers and author Sander Koenen take you on a special mission at the museum! You will study, train and work like a real astronaut, will earn your own astronaut’s diploma and a unique Space Academy astronaut’s patch. Are you ready? Buckle up. 3… 2… 1…. Lift-off!
Space Expo is a space travel museum and the visitor centre of ESA ESTEC. We have been open for almost 30 years. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and her son Prince Friso opened the exhibition centre on June 29, 1990. Each year we welcome more than 100,000 visitors.
Visitors to Space Expo make an exciting journey of discovery through the universe. One of our highlights is André Kuipers’ original Soyuz capsule.
In addition, much attention is paid to the history of space travel. You can walk through a model of the International Space Station (ISS). A visitor favourite is the life-size model of the moon landing.
André & the Soyuz Capsule
At Space Expo you can also admire many things that have to do with André Kuipers' space missions. For example his original space suit. The Soyuz TMA-03M space capsule (with which André Kuipers made his journey to the international space station ISS) can also be seen permanently at Space Expo.
You can park for free next to the building. Space Expo has 100 parking places.
In our Space Shop you will find nice space gifts, gadgets, puzzles, magnets, key chains and more, available in all price categories for all ages.
