Space Expo launches new exhibition: The Netherlands seen through satellites
Space Expo, the space museum, presents its new exhibition: The Netherlands seen through satellites. In this exhibit, visitors discover how satellite data makes our country safer, more sustainable and smarter. Using current data from the Dutch government's Satellite Data Portal, visitors zoom in on the Netherlands and learn about its diverse applications. The exhibition was created in collaboration with the Netherlands Space Office (NSO).

View your home from space
In the exhibition, several Dutch experts explain how they apply satellite data in their fields. Visitors then get to work themselves on an interactive screen. They complete tasks such as locating archaeological finds, analyzing air quality, and making residential areas more sustainable. In addition, the exhibition features several 'binoculars' that symbolize the eyes of satellites. With these, visitors can, among other things, perceive heat and see how sharply a satellite can see or measure distances. Furthermore, a large screen displays the most recent satellite data of the Netherlands. Here, visitors can search for locations throughout the country, including their own homes.
About the Satellite Data Portal
All data in the exhibition comes from the Dutch government's Satellite Data Portal. The Netherlands Space Office (NSO) makes this information available to everyone in the Netherlands free of charge. Space Expo's new exhibition is a museum adaptation of the portal, allowing visitors to experience the power of satellites in an accessible way.
