Artemis II: Back to the Moon!

For the first time in over fifty years, astronauts are traveling to the moon! In our temporary exhibition, we'll tell you all about the Artemis II lunar mission. Admire scale models of the SLS rocket and Orion capsule, among other things. You'll also learn about the astronauts, the Dutch solar panels and future missions.

Wubbo Ockels: Astronaut of Spaceship Earth

On October 30, 1985, Wubbo Ockels (1946 – 2014) became the first Dutchman to travel into space. Forty years later, Space Expo is honoring this historic milestone with a new temporary exhibition: Wubbo Ockels: Astronaut of Spaceship Earth.

Earth from Space

Discover the Earth through the eyes of satellites! In this interactive exhibition you will use a large globe, a relief map of the Netherlands and various touchscreens to explore what Earth observation satellites see from space. Experience how this unique data helps us better understand our world and make smart choices for the future.

The cleanroom

At Space Expo, you design your own space mission in the Cleanroom. Will you take people to the moon? Send a robot to Mars? Discover new stars in the universe? Or guide people using satellites?

The Netherlands seen through satellites

Satellites make the Netherlands a little smarter, safer and more sustainable every day. In this exhibition, you will discover for yourself just how powerful and indispensable they are! Using real-time data from the Dutch government's Satellite Data Portal, you can zoom in on the Netherlands and learn about its diverse applications. This exhibition was created in collaboration with the Netherlands Space Agency (NLSA).

ERA

The European Robotic Arm (ERA) makes a vital contribution to the ISS space station and the safety of astronauts. We can be proud, as it is the largest Dutch space project ever! Naturally, the ERA is a must-see at Space Expo.

Walk of Space

Since 2013, Noordwijk has featured a Walk of Space, with the handprints and footprints of famous astronauts set into the tiles of the Koningin Wilhelmina Boulevard. The Walk of Space is a collaboration between Space Expo, ESA ESTEC and the Municipality of Noordwijk. It symbolizes the strong bond between the municipality of Noordwijk and the space industry.

The Treasury

In the Treasury at Space Expo, you can admire more than fifty remarkable objects from the museum's collection. From astronauts’ personal belongings to components of satellites and space telescopes, each object highlights a different aspect of space travel. Together, they tell the story of the people, technologies, and missions that have contributed to our exploration of space.

From the first dreams of traveling to the moon to today's most modern space missions: in Historical Highlights, you will take a journey through more than 160 years of space history.

Zodiac signs

Even before you step inside Space Expo, you are welcomed by twelve remarkable bronze sculptures by artist Toon Slegers. These artworks depict the twelve signs of the zodiac and form a unique combination of art, astronomy, and space exploration.
