Admire the Summer Triangle

Are you familiar with the Summer Triangle yet? It’s not a constellation, but rather a striking group of very bright stars that form a pattern, known as an asterism. You can see the Summer Triangle in the evening sky every summer.

The Summer Triangle consists of the following 3 stars:

1.      Deneb, from the constellation Cygnus

2.     Vega, from the constellation Lyra

3.     Altair, from the constellation Aquila.

As soon as twilight begins, these three bright stars become visible. You can't miss them! Vega is high in the sky, almost directly overhead. Deneb is to the left of Vega and Altair is a good distance below and to the right of the other two.

The Summer Triangle is only visible from the Earth's Northern Hemisphere and can be clearly seen for part of the spring, throughout the entire summer, and for part of the autumn.
