Summer holiday program: Shining a light on our Sun
This summer is all about our very own star: the Sun.
The Sun may seem like a given, but this massive, churning sphere of plasma is full of surprises. In this presentation visitors of all ages will discover how stars are born and die, how the sun generates its energy and which mysteries still remain unsolved.
We will look at impressive space missions, learn how space weather affects our daily lives and dive into topics like sunspots and solar eclipses. We will also explain how to safely observe the sun. You are guaranteed to look at the sun with new eyes afterward!
Note! This presentation is in Dutch.
Practical information
- For explorers aged 8 and up.
- Every day from July 4th through August 30th, excluding July 10th.
- The show lasts 30 minutes and runs 3 times a day at various times. You can find the schedule as soon as you enter the museum.
- You can attend the program for free without a reservation (full=full) by showing your Space Expo tickets.
Extra activity: see the Sun up close
Between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, you can also safely view the sun through a special telescope at various times. This allows you to see what the Sun exactly looks like at that moment for yourself. Naturally, this is weather-permitting. We will decide on the day itself whether the activity will take place or not. Our staff at the front desk will be happy to tell you more on the day of your visit.
